Welcome
Thanks for choosing to view my artwork, it is really appreciated.
A little about myself, I was a late starter at 51 and then with some injuries that prevented me from pursuing further I really didn’t start until age 57.
I don’t think I have really identified a medium that I want to specialize in and have sold paintings in various mediums such as oil, pastel, watercolour and colour pencil. I tend to look at each individual artwork and then decide which would be the best medium to use.
I’m drawn to the way light reflects on objects and landscapes and love the way textures create their own shadows and tones.
My painting Red Onions was judge Best Watercolour in the Cairns Art Society 73rd Open and I have had paintings selected for judging in the 62nd, 63rd, 71st, 73rd and 74th Opens, with a number of paintings sold from both the Cairns Art Gallery and Tanks.
When time permits I like to join a group of artists called the Cairns Urban sketchers, and you can see an example of my work here. This group meets once a week and spends about 3 hours sketching in real time a chosen urban setting. This is a good way to develop your drawing skills and spend time with a great supportive group of artists. You can see upcoming events on their facebook page.
Have a look around, my artwork (if not sold before hand) is for sale and commissions are considered on each request.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information or assistance
